In 1987, a group of handweavers in Winston-Salem, NC, came together to form a collective studio. They rented a storefront at 600 North Trade Street in the Arts District and opened the Fiber Company, a shop featuring textiles, both wearables and decorative.

Today the Fiber Company represents nearly 45 craft artists from around the country. While the focus is on handweaving and textiles in all media, Fiber Company also carries jewelry, housewares, handmade books and cards, unique textiles from other parts of the world, and much more.

Fiber Company closed it's Trade Street location in October 2023.
